SOS
Original Poem:
Helpless
Feeling so helpless
Disbelief
The outrage is still there
But subdued
As depression sets in
Fear is present
As it should be
In every one of us
But still...
There is silence
So much silence
Too much silence
THE SILENCE IS DEAFENING.
Those who should speak out
But do not
Are letting this happen
Contributing the madness
The sadness
The chaos
Confusion steps in
Trying to understand
Trying to comprehend
Trying to figure out
Why so much hate
Why do they hate
THEY HATE THEMSELVES
For that I now know
But are they soulless too?
How can they watch
How can they ignore
How can they not care
How can they let this happen
Yet again
Here we are
Reliving, Repeating
And yet
They still sit back
And watch
Letting it happen
All over
Yet again...
Feeling so helpless
Disbelief
The outrage is still there
But subdued
As depression sets in
Fear is present
As it should be
In every one of us
But still...
There is silence
So much silence
Too much silence
THE SILENCE IS DEAFENING.
Those who should speak out
But do not
Are letting this happen
Contributing the madness
The sadness
The chaos
Confusion steps in
Trying to understand
Trying to comprehend
Trying to figure out
Why so much hate
Why do they hate
THEY HATE THEMSELVES
For that I now know
But are they soulless too?
How can they watch
How can they ignore
How can they not care
How can they let this happen
Yet again
Here we are
Reliving, Repeating
And yet
They still sit back
And watch
Letting it happen
All over
Yet again...
