Autumn booklet

Took another piece of scrap watercolor and made into a mini 3x3 book!

Decided to stick with a black, white (and gold!) theme.

"The end of summer is not the end of the world."

Inside page. I had first lettered "autumn" on a black sheet, but it's now backwards, so you see the n/m here. And since October is National Book Month, I added elements from book pages (these are from Jane Eyre).

This is the back page where you can see the first part of autumn ("autu").
Again, I attached a book "leaf" and part of the book down the inside of the cover (to cover up ink that bled through!) Love how it all ties together.

I also extended the "u" onto the inside back cover.

inside spread, "Welcome autumn."

And another leaf

And the back cover. (autumn in italic)
This started out as a bike design so I tried to cover that up and used the circles as part of the design.

Poor quality w/c paper but still a fun book!

More classwork (or class "play"!)

Some fun pages from a different class by Sharon Z.
Cannot remember what she calls it, but I'm calling it "Collage Lettering" journal page.

I've done similar layouts inspired by my L Doctor class (which I so badly want to redo!)
This page is using "Awareness, Healing and Acceptance"

This is an "i love me" page!  😊💖

grease pencil and walnut ink over

a "warm up" /play page for the other class.

another layout (using the ink from the pen)

side view with gold script lettering

Finally, my own creation for a mini-book
(again, another "learning to love me" page)

fun with all the layers!

handmade envies

Ever since the SMC Aug. swap, I've been on a roll! Have taken my scraps/failed pieces/practice pages and making them into mini env.'s (3.5x5, so they're still mailable).

Top Left, clockwise:
1) folded pen, "Calm" (it's upside down), 2) exemplar with marker, 3) ABC connected with walnut ink,
4) page from usps catalog, 5) practice sheet from online class (Halloween looking!) and 6) fp & gouache
