Neon Pattern

This is from my 100 Neon Challenge. It's the word "neon" repeated over & over to make a pattern.
I turned it to make it look more abstract. Original is below.

Walnut ink and neon colors.

Close up section.

Original. You can see the words better.

to Phawnda, 2019 (Year long exchange)

Old envie. Phawnda organizes a year-long exchange, so I joined in 2019. Felt pressure to wow with my env. to her, and although flawed, not bad! (if I could redo, I'd change the h. Not sure how, but I'd make it work better).

RW, walnut ink and color pencil.
Forgot to take pic with stamp and no idea which I used.

with insert.

I must've done well, as here are her comments (via email):

"Hi Leslie,
Your envelope (and cards) are just delightful! I can tell they were fun to create. Thank you so much for the package of color and sparkle.

I shared your envelope in a class I taught at our local college last Friday (with a few other envelopes to promote interest in handwriting). It was a hit with the students there as well!"

Blessings on your day,
Phawnda

Emulating Denis (IG)

I saw the name George lettered SO lovely on IG, that I had to try to copy:

https://www.instagram.com/p/CM1Rul2Df4U/

This gentleman's work is SO amazing -- I love it. I aspire to letter like him.

Anyway, here is my attempt at a copy:

I was super thrilled with how it turned out (even though I made a few changes). But of COURSE I lettered it on scrap paper. And instead of trying to redo, I decided to send anyway. I used a ruined env. that turned out to be perfect (size and color).

I also used a folded pen vs. his stick and brush.

Although not traditional Easter colors, I also made an insert card to match. (in case you can't tell, it says, "happy easter" -- the "happy" is on the side)

env. with stamp. Am hoping they can't see the printing on the opp. side of the paper. At least you can't see the ruined name on the env. itself.
