Happy Birthday redo.

I love so much to see how my lettering is improving!
(But I hate seeing my old cringe-worth work.)

Once again, not folded pen, but looks gestural, so that is why I'm posting.

For both the original (bottom) and the redo (top), I used my pink Zig #Fudebiyori brush marker. I think the bottom one is at least 2 years old, maybe 3.

Once again, cannot find original. Will update if I do! (I cringe at this so bad.)

Starlight redo.

The bottom piece was for a Callivember challenge in 2020. Never really thought of redoing til this challenge.

Still not loving it.

my r & h are the main problems.

Oh What Fun! (redo with brush marker)

Although this redo wasn't done with a folded pen, it has a similar look & feel to it.

I used the same tool as original:  #zigfudebiyorimetallic brush marker. With the original, I used a Crayola gel marker for the pink dots. And for the redo, I used one of my new Posca pens.

Calm redo.

Another one where I've always liked the original/bottom piece (except for "STAY"), but again, upon further examination, I see flaws. So I challenged myself to redo it.

"a" tail too much. Also dissatisfied with m.

Weaver writing with Folded Pen (redo)

Redo of attempted weaver writing for the Progress Lettering Challenge. (I even used the same pen!)

With the original (below), I started out good emulating Weaver writing, but then just went to my old habits (too loopy). This time, I tried to be more aware, and was so pleased with the results!

Welcome Summer redo.

So, the very bottom piece is the original. When I first did it, I loved it. I loved the scrapbook paper I could use for the env., and I loved the card I watercolor-ed to match.

This is yet another one where, over time, i began to dislike it more and more. SO, another redo for the Jan. Challenge!

I used clip-art watercolor pieces for the final. (Should have switched the corn & tomato to even out the red color.) Took a couple tries to find what worked best, although this still could use improving (my darn ink leaked from my pen at the end of the S -- grrrr, and I'm not sure how well I like my ligatures).

Another attempt, which I like, but it has a filter. (walnut ink)

Original. yerg.

(Side Note:  I could "Welcome Summer" about right now! Got 12" of snow on Jan. 14 and temps have been on the cold side! -- brrrrr.)

Wonderful Redo.

This was another one where I really liked the original for the longest time. But as with the others, I started to see flaws (my W and r started bothering me).

My redo was actually a trial piece that turned out, so I decided to use. Not perfect but pretty good!

Walnut in with metallic watercolors on top.

Before pic.

Cannot find original yet. Walnut ink and homemade pen with color pencil.
