More inspo from Laurie Doctor's "Speak to Me..." class!
I wanted to do this "technique" in my art healing journal, so I chose my poem, "As i Heal".
At first, I planned to use similar colors as I did with the project from her class (mostly primary), but then it turned out more black & white (w/grey, gold & red), and I love it.
(So bummed my darn small uncial lettering on the Right isn't as sharp, as my ink was too much in my pen. I found it hard to letter in that small space, and my paper was warping.)
Full pic of finished piece.
Columns from Left to Right:
1) Glaze gel pen, then a light wash of Sumi ink. (akim-"ish" writing)
2) extra fine point Posca pen , w/"3d" accents using a grey Glaze gel.
3) At first I lettered in this column using sumi ink, but I didn't like it, so I colored over with a thick layer and added bigger lettering in gold metallic ink. ("As I Heal, I Feel; As i Heal, I love ME.")
4) pp uncial in gold metallic ink, with a few stripes of the Sumi
5) "AS i HEAL" in the "middle" in big uncial, then smaller uncial above & below (again Sumi ink).

Close up
At first, I thought about having just the "As i Heal" on the end, all by itself, but I wanted to add all of the poem.
Another close up.
I really dislike the last column, BUT I can always redo and paste over with another strip of paper. Overall though, I love it! (and love me too. 😊😉)
