Day 12: Orange Ink

This is my 2nd bottle of orange India ink, as the first one was weirdly thick, so I threw it away (thinking it was b/c I never used it). But nope, same with this one! Must be the contents.

Not sure why I buy it as I rarely ever use it. SO it was perfect to use for my 100 Day Challenge.

A few samples. Had more fun with it than I thought, esp. when I found a lovely quote (that sparked a new poem!)

I first used it for this piece, which is a "take off" on my other "Music Elevates" creation (not posted yet). I actually penned a poem for it too. Used my 6mm Pilot Parallel pen. (I plan to letter my poem on each side. Will update when finished.)

here is my sketch. I'm channeling Brody N.'s abstract lettering (not sure what he calls it).

And in my happy journal.

There's the ink.

I then used it for a background color. Tried doing the wet lettering technique Julie W showed in her "Marks" class, but it didn't turn out.

SO, I lettered over in gold, and added this quote i found about the color orange (which, inspired a poem! -- to come...)
Used the same orange ink for the lettering.

I didn't like how the piece turned out, so i decided to create a (somewhat) mini book for Nele (5x5-ish), using the orange piece above as the cover. I wrote "break free" again for an inside spread.

I also used the ink for one of the pages, which is shown in the collage at the top.

This also inspired another page for my healing journal.

And another! (uncial with small automatic pen)

And just for fun... Here is my own alpha creation of Brody's abstract letters:
Used my Ferris Wheel Press ink (Stroke of Midnight).
Want to find a diff. a and an add.'l "b".

Having fun with these!
