It's so funny how things kind of "work out" at times... I tend to feel "bad" with my correspondence when one of my pen pals writes me a letter by hand, as then I feel pressure to do the same. But I always explain that it's easier for my to type my letters, as I like to save my hand for lettering (otherwise, it gets cramped -- prob. b/c I hold my pen too tight).
However, this time with Zoe, I decided to try to calligraph her letter, just for fun & practice. But then, I got a notice from the learn calligraphy site (am taking a few classes on there) about a Challenge for February: To pen a "love letter" each week to someone. What timing! 😃
So, here are a few samples from Zoe's letter, and another I did, just for fun, and to play with my pp variations/semi-imperial script.
Started out with foundational, but quickly changed to italic.
(C-5 nib & India ink. Posca pens for name and "hello")
then, switched to pp work
THEN, switched again to the fun pp variations
Did the same with Amy.
Diff. lighting for the fun paper.
Actual color.
Made it pink too.
*Note about the paper: This notebook paper is so old -- nice & thick, but ink can still bleed. It's from way back when gel pens first started emerging.
