Layers upon Layers! (O Cmas Tree)

This piece started out as an idea I saw on Pinterest (via Behance) -- posted below:

Final piece. Started with bigger uncial lettering as the base, then added lyrics over (vertically) in pointed pen metallics.

Sketch: I was just experimenting in a notebook. Uncial Lettering and glass pen for script. Didn't like w/red.

First layer.

Started in Nov. of that year. At first I didn't like it b/c I wasn't sure what to do with it (or that it would turn out). So, I set it aside, but then, early Dec, decided to try to finish for our home

I added colors in the counters, but that still seemed blah (no progress pic for that -- rats.), then got the idea to add lyrics in metallic ink, trailing down the tree (like tinsel). Used my pointed pen.

Tried to take pics of diff. angles showing the lettering and overlays.
