This is a little piece I did for my Belgium Snail Mail Pal, Nele. Instead of sending her Cmas wishes this year, I waited a bit to send her bday wishes as hers is in early Jan (AND she remembered mine this year, AND her goodies arrived nearly right on time for me!) 😊
I wanted to do my lettering collage I learned in L Doctor's class. I tried doing this for her booklet I sent (see my Snail Mail blog) but it was a bit of a fail. (and you can see my 6 is lopsided as well for I planned it poorly.
The rainbow left column is a small poem I found online that says, "May your troubles be less and your blessings be more. Let nothing but happiness come through your door."
On the right I just lettered "Happy New Year" over and over in diff. pp hands with gold ink. Then I painted over with some sumi.
And added a few 3d embellishments
