For the longest time, I've been on a quest to find the PERFECT opaque white ink, mainly for my folded pens. I can use various ones with my pointed pens, just fine, but when it comes to my fp's, either the ink doesn't flow well, or isn't opaque enough. However, it will also depend on the type of folded pen i use (e.g. my slant tip Pilot is a no-go)
Of everything I've ever tried, I find Ziller the best.
However, I have about 5 bottles of various ones that i don't touch. SO here's to using those for the next few months...
Dr. Martin Bombay, Daler-Rowney FW acrylic, Ziller acrylic, Koh-i-noor and Pro White.
*The Koh-i-noor is drawing in, and is really old, so i just tossed it, as it was useless trying to do a sample. As for the Pro White... not sure how old it is, as the lid is stuck. I can try running under hot water, but may just buy new.
A few years ago, I also tried W&N, and it was ok, but a very tiny bottle. And I've tried Higgins white drawing ink, but not opaque enough. AND I have trouble mixing white gouache (consistency and opacity).
Dr Martin Bombay. This is a scrap piece i'm salvaging, so I added this quote. Not bad! C-nibs & pp. for lettering, & ruling pen for design.
B4 pic with just design, and play with ruling pen.
Testing with the Daler-Rowney
and with the Ziller.
Did this piece for an upcoming day (metallic color pencils).
and on some env.'s (see Snail Mail Blog for finished pieces)
Trial piece on scrap paper, with my dainty Brause nib (from Day 11)
