Day 15: Yellow ink

I must've been buying the whole rainbow of inks for some reason (maybe b/c i'm not a fan of mixing gouache?), however, this is watercolor ink, not India ink.
Again, I rarely use. (i don't think I've ever used this! Maybe a year or so old.)

*actually, I think the reason I bought this yellow is when I did some sun calligrams, and found mixing gouache difficult, to get the right shade of yellow (as I love this marigold color!)

Watercolor Aqua Ink.
"Yellow" lyrics (Coldplay), "Let the Sunshine in" calligram.

Collage of diff. pieces

Did this for an IG lettering challenge. Various tools for the rays (ruling pen, tiny italic, pp script, small uncial, small neuland, small Bnib, foundational, etc.)

Colored in block letters for the sun.

Again, "Yellow" lyrics, also with an old Pentel brush pen (was gold, but now writes in marigold).
Homemade fp.

Another sun calligram (test piece) -- Used the ink to color the whole sun.
(Sunshine song lyrics for the rays.)

Various tools: ruling pen, tiny italic, pp

Also used an xtra fine pt Posca to letter over the yellow half circle of the sun.

Close ups

Diff. version of "Yellow" by Coldplay (i love the song).
Another test piece, as I want to letter in my happy journal too.

Ink and Coit pen on Rhodia paper

*Although we mostly associate stars with night, at first i thought this looked "off" b/c of the yellow, but now I think it's perfect, as the Sun is our biggest star!  :)

More testing...

Coit pen again

Brush pen

Horizon nib and pp

Close ups.

i like this shade of yellow, and it will definitely come in handy, if I ever need for a lettered piece (hoping it won't dry up b/4 then!) More convenient than mixing gouache.
