X.... x-height

Full disclosure: I struggle with x-heights. I hate using guidelines; I've always felt like my lettering always looked off with or without them. Maybe I was never taught the correct way to use them? Or maybe I just need to go back to basics. (OR maybe I'm just a lettering rebel!  :D -- ding, ding, ding: we have a winner, folks!) 😄

Case-in-point:  although I like my lettering, you can see it looks off/curved, etc.

Whatever. (I'm having fun with it, and that's all that matters!)
