Marker tree

a little Flashback Friday action...From 2018

This is the weekend we put up our tree, so in "honor" of that, am sharing this tree I created with markers.

Was just playing (with chisel tip callig markers, I believe), and did this abstract tree. Need (and want!) to re-create. Maybe for cards and a bigger piece for home?

Added 3d metallic stickers and glitter glue.

"Be kind..." overlays

I thought I had posted these already (as I've shared on IG), but will share again, as it's World Kindness Day!

I took the vellum overlay from my July Art Center class ("Be kind...  https://foldedpenfan.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2024-07-25T07:00:00-07:00&max-results=7 )  and put it over a pink background instead (in my healing art journal).

I then made another, for my Belgium snail mail pal, Nele.
I did a dark background with the balsa wood and used white pearl iridescent ink for the overlay.

I did another piece for her like this (a poem!) as well as her env. with balsa wood too.
Having fun with this technique!

Be Kind. (to others AND yourself)

Autumn

Technically, I should have posted this late Sept/early Oct. BUT I just finished it recently, and decided to use as a Snail Mail insert.

It's from a few years ago, when I tried masking (crayon) and watercolor. I didn't like how it turned out, so I decided to letter over it (pp and metallic acrylic ink) with my fall poem creation!

close up of a mistake that i successfully fixed! (had spelled "leaves" wrong! -- wasn't paying attention). I just made the a bigger, and actually love it! Makes me want to redo and alternate more letters.

Revive Your Light (more brush)

For an IG lettering challenge. (And perfect for a new month!)

Still using the pointed brush!

And with some added embellishments.

Wish I had done "your" in a diff. color.
