Crowded Head (italic)

Flashback Friday:  Did this piece in 2006
I love Collective Soul, and I liked the idea of writing in a circle. Challenging but cool.

Gouache and italic lettering.

Close up. Not bad!

Misc. Pointed Pen

from 2019. (When I started getting back into my lettering daily, I tried messing with my pp again.)

For HLC on IG.

For this next grouping: *All these are cropped, so they're very enlarged.
Will try to find original.

For not using my pp in years, I gotta say, I'm very proud of how they turned out!

Happy World Calligraphy Day!

This is actually from November (my Art Center class)

I was just playing with italic and tried to emulate this word. Not bad! (as I'm not a fan of my own italic)

Anyhoo...

More Balsa lettering

Was playing with my balsa wood, and here are a few letters...

Some of the alphabet

At first, I lettered "feelin' good", but then changed to "groovy"

I may cut it out and paste in my Joy Journal.

Alternating uncial & gestural

Another from my Redos Challenge 2021: 100 Days of Redos

(I should have titled, Inspo/Redos Challenge

Exemplar I saw on Pinterest (I believe it's Amity Parks? -- https://www.pinterest.com/pin/284993482656217988/ )

Decided to try it 3 diff. ways:  walnut ink with drop in gold, b&w and in color.

For the color one: I like most all of it, except for the tail of the X, and the Y (too big?)
B&W:  again, the X (on the right, tail) and my P is a bit crooked.

There are errors in each piece, but it was still fun to create. (I love the altered uncial, or whatever it's called -- "La Quadrata"?)
